Marriage of James Boyle and Bridget Grogan - 31 Oct 1861. Extract from the parish records of St Patrick's RC chapel, Drumintee, County Armagh. The Boyle's parish was Mullaghban thus Dromintee must be the bride's parish - as was customary.
Witnesses were: James Magee and Mary Conroy. The McGee's were next door neigbours to James Boyle.
This Witness, James McGee, would be a brother of Denis McGee - and not Denis's son James McGee (son-in-law of James Boyle) born 1846 and would be aged just 15.
In Ireland  witnesses were often first cousins or had a hand in matching up the couple.

Marriage of James Boyle and Bridget Grogan - 31 Oct 1861. Extract from the parish records of St Patrick's RC chapel, Drumintee, County Armagh. "Longfield" is not the residence of Bridget Grogan's family but Slieve Gullion. There are no "Grogan" tenants in Longfield but it's possible Bridget was living there, perhaps In Service (a Servant).
The Boyle's parish was Mullaghban so Drumintee would be the bride's parish - as was customary to marry in the bride's parish. Witnesses were: James "Magee" and Mary Conroy. The McGee's were next door neigbours to James Boyle. This Witness, James "Magee", would be a brother of Denis McGee - and not Denis's son James McGee (son-in-law of James Boyle) born 1846 and who would be aged just 15. In Ireland witnesses were often first cousins or had a hand in matching-up the couple. © Copyright the National Library of Ireland - http://registers.nli.ie/ Catholic Parish Registers at the NLI.
