Owen McParland born in Ballard - 03 Jan 1864. Owen's father is Peter McParland and his mother is Margaret Humphry. The parents could not read and the Registrar entered the mother's name as heard: Amfrey, Aufrey etc. Transcriptions onto current digital records show the mother's surname as "Aubrey". Note that "Civil Records", as opposed to parish records, of Births, Deaths & Marriages throughout Ireland had commenced two days before Owen's birth.
