In 1884 two of Ann's children (Bernard & Bridget) emigrated to Philadelphia, USA. Two years later in 1886 Ann's husband, John McGlade, died aged just 50 years of age. The following year Ann and her 6 remaining children emigrated to the USA to join Bernard: Mary, Kate, Owen, Patrick, Annie and John.
