  • Notes
    • John was Baptised 6 Feb 1889, Mullaghban RC chapel. (Eugene McCann)
John's mother Bridget (Henry) died on 7 Jan 1915 - four days after her husband Hughie. Her death is registered the next day 8 Jan 1915 by son Peter, home from Coatbridge in Scotland. Hughie's death on 3 Jan 1915 was not registered at Forkhill by son John until 18 January 1915. John, who was present at the death of his father is 25 years of age; older siblings seem to have married or emigrated. Their house is difficult to access and is one of the highest on Slieve Gullion. Continuing there alone would be very challenging alone. (See remains of their house on Hughie's page).
John later moved to Scotland and was a scrap merchant (John Doherty b1953). [10]
