From Alice Shevlin's marriage record of 1886 Alice resides in Ballard and her father "Bernard Shevlin" is "Dead". Bernard died in July 1884. The celebrant was Fr. Charles Quinn. Over the years Rev. Fr. Quinn, based in Bessbrook, became a formidable pastor and was latterly elevated to the the position Canon Quinn.
